Introducing children to Palestinian culture by presenting the people’s food, crafts and customs is a time-honored way to broaden the knowledge of young readers. But erasing a people’s history, as We Are Palestinian does to Jews, is promoting a lie, and has no place in any children’s book.

A picture book on Palestinian exile that erases the word “Israel” and falsifies history can have only one goal: to prejudice young readers against Israel and Jews.

A frequent feature of anti-Israel activism is erasing the State of Israel from the map and replacing it with Palestine. One insidious example of this comes in the short video “I am from Palestine.”

Good books for middle grade readers should entertain with gripping stories and interesting characters. They shouldn’t manipulate characters and plot to force-feed historical distortions down the throats of vulnerable young readers. That’s propaganda, not literature.

The author’s nostalgic account of her father’s childhood in East Jerusalem is marred by a pernicious agenda: To erase Israel, Jews, and Hebrew from Jerusalem and prejudice young readers against Israel.

In this accessible book, readers trying to navigate a post-October 7 landscape will find guidance and wisdom to help them do so from a humble and intelligent Jewish religious leader who has devoted his life to the Jewish state, Jewish life, and general society.

Ethnic Studies activists promoting a version of Marxism and hyper-divisive racial categorizing are seeking to overturn American society. They are teaching America’s young to scorn its central idea of common humanity and its Western civilization achievements. A unifying theme in the agendas of these activists is their shared hostility towards the Jewish people, evinced by their vilification of the world’s sole Jewish state, Israel.
It was inevitable. Anti-Israel professors at the college level have spawned a generation of teacher-consultant-activists seeking to inject false, anti-Israel narratives into American public schools. If their efforts are successful, they could undermine longstanding American public support for Israel.
Ethnic studies programs were first developed in universities in the 1960s. Programs were based on critical theory and what became critical race theory. Jews, Israel and the West are demonized in the offshoots called critical or liberated ethnic studies, and they are taught in an increasing number of preschools, elementary and high schools and integrated into many classes.
